Murfy Concept Sketches

MURFYYYYYYY

the Nexugi Pine Marten (my own sub-species). A couple of quick sketches from a little after the new year. Never uploaded em'.

Ok so up top is a colour scheme thing, his satual, his sickle (read * for what a sickle is), some pics of his eye, muzzle and paw, and a bust headshot thingy. I think that he looks deranged in that top pic XD.

Down the bottem is a pic of him that i'm awful proud of. It's a full body pic of Murfy, showing his leather belt thingo. On his back he has is a satual thing, in which he carries whatever he needs too (food and stuff).

On his hind leg is his sickle. I relise i kinda stuffed it up XD. Any ideas on how the heck he can sheath his sickle would be much apreciated. Lol for now lets just assume that he rips in out following the curve of the blade, and that the leather buckles come undone easily but not too easily (so that when he's jumping around and stuff it stays in).

Murfy is left handed, but finds it most comfortable to have his weapon on his left side rather than his right. Ya know, i may have to draw some concepts just to do with that goddamm sickle and its case.

* Ok, so for those who don't know what a sickle is, it's a small, curved knife, usually used for cropping and stuff. It's like a mini sythe. They come in all shapes and sizes. Murfy uses one as a weapon.*

Nexugi pine martens live for an average of 55 - 60 years (females have the same life expectancy as males). Nex means death in Latin, and ugi comes from the word Effugi meaning Eluding in Latin. So therefor the species are the 'Death Eluding Pine Martens'. Because of their long life expectancy. Murfy is 17, 3 years senior to Milo.

Murfy is a very proud and hot-headed marten, and the of any insult to him/his species/his friends no matter how small results in a large bruise. That is, if the insult was minor, and you're lucky. He likes cats (though at the start of Glow he has never seen one, later in the book he does and grows fond of them), despite the fact that most of the time they're trying to kill him. His diet mostly contains meats, though he also eats legumes, fungi and ocasionaly grasses. And he eats lots.

Murfy also refuses to drink anything but water or Tayberry wine, though he would prefer the wine when he can get it. It's not particually good for him, as lets face it, martens shouldn't drink. that's never stopped Murfy though. He often carries around a small vile of it for special occasions.

Oh, and he has a strong scottish accent XD.
